- Four Regional Outposts (Update 0.7.0): Crafting stations and player stashes were officially deployed across Arcadia, Mechanist Base, Mudlark Camp, and Microrayion.
- Independent Outpost Stashes: Outpost stashes feature one storage tab and do not mirror the inventory of the main Zalesye village stash, providing isolated forward storage.
- Main Village Stash Expansions: The central Zalesye safehouse stash can be upgraded by purchasing expansion tabs from Traders for 50,000 Rubles each.
- Subterranean Bunkers (3-Hour Reset): Underground military facilities like Bunker B-4 require a Red Keycard and refresh all high-tier weapon crates on a 3-hour reset cycle.
- Mattress Sleeping Rule: Only beds equipped with mattresses can be used to sleep and advance time; ambient campfires provide doubled passive healing during field expeditions.
Zalesye Sector Breakdown & Landmarks
The Zalesye exclusion sector is divided into distinct zones defined by environmental hazard levels, mutant spawns, and scavenging yield:
Zalesye Central Village
Neutral / Safe ZoneThe central civilization hub. Features core vendors (Grigory, Petar, Alexi, Vesna), medical facilities, and the primary player safehouse. Upgradable stash expansions are purchased here from Traders for 50,000 Rubles per extra tab.
Farm M12
Low HazardOpen agricultural fields featuring long sightlines and low mutant patrol density. Excellent early-game foraging zone with minimal line-of-sight ambushes.
Lumber Mill South
Moderate HazardSprawling industrial yard filled with timber piles and machinery sheds. Patrol routes are active; keep sidearms ready for medium-range raider encounters.
Burned Village
Moderate HazardCharred residential ruins. As of Update 0.7.0, enemy spawns are rebalanced with a maximum cap of 1 Big Rat, reducing previous sudden multi-mutant swarms.
Swamp Crossing
High HazardDeep muddy terrain that hampers sprint mobility. Update 0.7.0 repositioned Sucker ambush spawns and reduced projectile spit speeds by approximately 30% for fairer counter-play.
Hospital Beds & Yefim Cemetery
Severe HazardDense contamination zone requiring gas masks and anti-rad medicine. Heavy mutant presence surrounding the cemetery and derelict ward buildings.
Subterranean Bunker B-4
Extreme HazardUnderground high-security vault northwest of central Zalesye beyond the railway embankment. Requires a Red Keycard to breach reinforced blast doors. Operates on a strict 3-hour loot container reset cycle.
Four Forward Outpost Hubs (Update 0.7.0)
Update 0.7.0 resolved long-range traversal fatigue by establishing fully functional forward camps equipped with crafting stations and local stashes:
Arcadia Outpost
A fortified forward camp serving western salvage expeditions. In Update 0.7.0, dedicated crafting stations and a secure player stash were established here to support long-range scavengers operating near industrial perimeters.
Mechanist Base
Technician stronghold equipped with specialized toolbenches and fabrication facilities. Added in Update 0.7.0, this outpost enables field repairs and ammunition crafting without requiring a full trek to the central village.
Mudlark Camp
Elevated wooden stilt settlement bordering the southern exclusion marsh. Added in Update 0.7.0 with workbench and stash utilities, offering refuge from waterlogged hazards and mutant ambushes.
Microrayion Outpost
Fortified apartment complex block offering tactical overwatch and storage in the dense eastern ruins. Update 0.7.0 added full crafting bench and local storage capabilities.
Subterranean Military Bunkers & 3-Hour Resets
Bunker B-4 & Underground Complex Layout
Subterranean Bunkers (principally Sector B-4) represent the most lucrative endgame loot installations in the Zalesye exclusion zone. Accessing the lower subterranean blast doors requires a verified Red Keycard, obtainable from military raider bosses or rare high-tier safehouse caches.
Single-use electronic keycard consumed upon opening reinforced blast doors.
Military crates and weapon containers refresh after 3 hours of real-time elapsed.
Heavy ionizing radiation in flooded lower decks; requires gas mask and high-caliber buckshot.
Detailed breach tactics, enemy patrol patterns, and extraction points are covered in our dedicated Red Keycard & Bunker Loot Recovery Guide.
Field Rest, Healing & Border Hazards (Update 0.7.0)
- Mattress Sleep Requirement: In Update 0.7.0, sleeping to skip hazardous night hours (21:00 to 06:00) strictly requires beds equipped with mattresses. Bare wooden frames or canvas cots will not trigger sleep interaction.
- Doubled Campfire Healing: To compensate for strict mattress sleep rules while exploring remote sectors, campfire healing has been doubled, making ambient firepits crucial field recovery points.
- Line-of-Sight Sandbag Borders: Sandbags placed across wasteland boundaries act as solid physical borders while allowing NPCs to maintain visual line-of-sight, preventing unfair blind-spot exploits.
- Spiked Barricades: Update 0.7.0 added Spiked Barricades across major road bottlenecks and perimeter choke points; navigate around them carefully to avoid puncture trauma.
